چکیده

A sticky spheres model to describe slow dynamics of a non-equilibrium system is proposed. The dynamical slowing down is due to the presence of entropy barriers. We present an exact mean field analysis of the model and demonstrate that there is a non-equilibrium phase transition from an exponential cluster size distribution to a powerlaw.

A sticky spheres model to describe slow dynamics of a non-equilibrium system is proposed. The dynamical slowing down is due to the presence of entropy barriers. An exact steady state analysis of the representative mean field equations, in the case when the clusters are chosen with the samè a priori probability, demonstrates a non-equilibrium phase transition from an exponential cluster size dis...

Phase Transitions in " Small " Systems – a Challenge for Thermodynamics – *

Traditionally, phase transitions are defined in the thermodynamic limit only. We propose a new formulation of equilibrium thermo-dynamics that is based entirely on mechanics and reflects just the geometry and topology of the N-body phase-space as function of the conserved quantities, energy, particle number and others. This allows to define thermo-statistics without the use of the thermodynamic...

1 Ja n 20 02 Hard core particle exclusion effects in low dimensional non - equilibrium phase transitions

We review the currently known universality classes of continuous phase transitions to absorbing states in nonequilibrium systems and present results of simulations and arguments to show how the blockades introduced by different particle species in one dimension cause new robust classes. Results of investigations on the dynamic scaling behavior of some bosonic spreading models are reported.

We discuss some basic issues that arise when one attempts to model quantum mechanical systems on a computer, and we describe the mathematical structure of the resulting discretized cannonical commutation relations. The C∗algebras associated with the discretized CCRs are the non-commutative spheres of Bratteli, Elliott, Evans and Kishimoto. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification. Primary 46L40;...

We consider the entanglement entropy for a sub-system in d + 1 dimensional SU(N) lattice gauge theory. The 1 + 1 gauge theory is treated exactly and shows trivial behavior. Gauge theories in higher dimensions are treated within Migdal-Kadanoff approximation. We consider the gauge theory in the confinement phase. We demonstrate the existence of a non-analytical change from the short distance to ...
